Privacy policy
This policy explains what information the Blockstead mobile game ("the game") and its partners collect, why, and the choices you have. "We" and "us" mean the developer of Blockstead. You can contact us any time at support@blocksteadgame.com.
The short version
- You don't need an account to play, and we never ask for your name, email or phone number in the game.
- Your progress (levels, coins, stars, the house) is stored on your device.
- The game is free and shows ads. Our advertising partners use your device's advertising identifier and similar data to show and measure ads. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent first.
- We use analytics and crash reports to understand how the game is played and to fix problems.
- Purchases are handled by Apple or Google. We never see your payment details.
Information on your device
Your game progress and settings are saved in a file on your device. It stays there unless you delete the game. We don't receive it.
Information collected by our partners
The game includes software from the partners below. They may collect information automatically when you play:
- Device and app information: device model, operating system and version, language, time zone, app version.
- Identifiers: the advertising identifier of your device (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android) and app-specific identifiers.
- Network information: IP address, from which a general location (country or city) can be inferred.
- Usage information: which ads were shown and tapped, game events such as levels started and completed, and crash reports.
| Partner | Why | Their privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Appodeal and the ad networks it works with | Showing ads, measuring them, preventing ad fraud | appodeal.com/privacy-policy |
| Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config) | Understanding how the game is played, crash reports, adjusting game settings | firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| Apple App Store / Google Play | Downloads and in-app purchases | apple.com/legal/privacy · policies.google.com/privacy |
Why we use information
- To run the game and keep your progress.
- To show ads that keep the game free, including personalized ads when you allow them.
- To understand which levels are too hard, find bugs and improve the game.
- To prevent fraud and abuse.
Where the EU or UK GDPR applies, we rely on your consent for personalized advertising and on our legitimate interests for analytics, crash reports and fraud prevention.
Your choices
- Ad consent: in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, the game asks for your consent before personalized ads are shown. You can change your choice later in the game's settings.
- iPhone and iPad: the game asks for permission before using your advertising identifier for tracking (App Tracking Transparency). You can change this in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Android: you can delete or reset your Advertising ID in Settings → Privacy → Ads (the exact menu depends on your device).
- Remove ads: the in-game shop offers a purchase that removes most ads.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information, to object to or restrict its use, to withdraw consent, and to not be discriminated against for using these rights. Because the game has no accounts, the easiest way to delete data held on your device is to delete the game. For data held by our partners, email us and include the advertising identifier shown in your device settings if you can; we'll pass your request on. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
We do not sell personal information for money. Some sharing for personalized advertising may count as "sharing" or "selling" under California law; you can opt out by turning off ad tracking as described above or by emailing us.
Children
Blockstead is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we'll help remove it.
Keeping information
Partners keep information for as long as needed for the purposes above, as described in their own policies. Analytics data is kept for a limited period and then deleted or anonymized.
International transfers
Our partners may process information in countries other than yours, including the United States, using safeguards such as standard contractual clauses where required.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the game.
